On December 3, 2021, a news article was posted onto billboard.com discussing a signing for the band My Chemical Romance and lead signer Gerard Way with CAA. Within the article, it was revealed that Gerard Way’s comic series The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys was being developed into a TV series with Hivemind. Beyond this article, no other official news has been announced regarding the series.

The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys is a sequel comic book series that follows after the My Chemical Romance album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. Since the album’s release in 2010 and the sequel comic book series ending in 2014, the only other addition to this story is the release of the comic book series The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys: National Anthem. The six-issue comic book series served as a prequel to the events of the Danger Days album and concluded in March of 2021.

With rumors now coming out regarding The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys TV series, fans are buzzing with excitement to see what is in store.

The rumors also come out just six months before My Chemical Romance is set to start their reunion tour beginning in May of 2022. The tour was originally set to begin in 2020, following the band’s reunion in 2019, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tour was postponed and will begin in 2022.

With so much news circulating the band and the story of the Killjoys, fans should keep an eye out for any more news being released hopefully soon.
