On November 20, 2022, in a sudden and shocking move, Bob Iger, previous CEO of the Walt Disney Company, returned to his former position to replace Bob Chapek. Chapek became CEO after Iger had left in February 2020 but has now stepped down from his position.

Chapek's time as CEO was viewed as controversial by many Disney fans and employees of the company due to his cost-cutting tactics, his silence over the Don't Say Gay bill in Florida and many layoffs that took place over his time as CEO (CNBC).

Since the announcement later in the day Sunday, no one is happier about the news of Iger's return than the Disney fans on Twitter. Just a little after the announcement, plenty of memes had popped up, talking about how thankful everyone is that Iger is back and Chapek is gone. Many people called it a "Thanksgiving" or "Christmas Miracle."

Twitter user @MostlyChaseH compared the feeling of being in the Magic Kingdom park Sunday to the Wizard of Oz when the Munchkins celebrated the death of the Wicked Witch of the East.

Another user, @joenasuti, parodied Taylor Swift, saying that now Disney is "The Walt Disney Company (Iger's Version)."

User @GratDisMemes took the jokes a step further and made a joke where they asked, "WHAT IF?" accompanied by a picture of former Disney CEO Michael Eisner.

Michael Eisner had become an infamous fan favorite, known for all the good but also the bad that happened to the Walt Disney Company during his time as CEO. Since Bob Chapek had gotten the position, Eisner was no longer made fun of by anyone as the worst CEO.

Since the news came out less than twenty-four hours ago, little information has been released about Iger's return and Chapek's immediate step-down. There is no doubt that changes to the company and its operations will start to appear soon, so keep an eye out for more information as it develops.

If you are like Twitter user @CLAWTHRNS, you may be hoping to hear that Genie Plus is going away.

We can only hope!
